Car seat
There's no better advocate for in-car child safety than the Britax Advocate 70-G3 Onyx convertible car seat. The base's SafeCell Technology™ lowers the seat's center of gravity in a crash, counteracting a seated child's forward movement to reduce the risk of a head injury. Integrated steel bars strengthen the seat's connection to the vehicle, and an energy-absorbing Versa-Tether with a two-point attachment and staged-release tether webbing further slows forward-movement. HUGS chest pads are affixed to the seat to ensure proper positioning and an EZ-Buckle System keeps the harness buckle in a forward position.
True Side Impact Protection features deep side walls lined with energy-absorbing EPP foam to shield and contain a child's head, neck, and body while keeping them "in true" or aligned position. They effectively distribute crash forces along with the secure, tangle-free five-point harness. Plus, Side Impact Cushion Technology features energy-absorbing cushions on the exterior of the seat to reduce side impact crash energy by 45 percent. High-density comfort foam, two buckle positions, an infant positioning insert, soft black and grey printed fabric upholstery, and rear- and forward-facing recline positions provide comfort for children up to 70 lbs.
Premium lower LATCH connectors make installation quick and simple, and built-in lock-offs ensure snug lap and shoulder belt installation. The anti-slip, contoured base grips and protects a vehicle seat, and the plush, easy-remove cover allows you to clean the seat without disassembling it. You don't ever have to disassemble the harness, either - a quick-adjust, no-rethread design repositions the harness height, and holders keep the straps at the sides when you're placing a child in the seat. An audible Click & Safe® Snug Harness Indicator notifies you when the harness is within range of appropriate snugness. Certified for air travel.

Comments about Britax Advocate 70-G3 Onyx:
We did a ton of research before investing in our daughters "big girl" car seat. Every professional and parent recommended the Britax brand. This is the best of the best. The extra cushioning on the sides is second to none. It also still fits in the Britax travel bag. It gives me serious peace of mind knowing that if I were to ever be in a car accident, I know that I have the safest seat on the market. It is a little more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for. It installs easily and my daughter seems to be very comfortable in it. It also adjusts with basically one finger. Britax also sells a set of travel wheels that turns this into a "stroller" for the airport. It makes travel a breeze.
Comments about Britax Advocate 70-G3 Onyx:
I bought this for my 10 month old son, who is 21 pounds and 29 inches. We plan to keep him rear-facing until at least 2 years old, so we wanted something that would last. It is easy to get him in since the buckle stands forward and the straps velcro to the sides of the seat until your child is seated. One thing I will say is that the HUGS had to come off because it was almost impossible to get him in when they were on. I called Britax and they explained they've had lots of calls about them, and recommend taking them off for smaller, rear-facing children. We'll put them back on as he gets bigger, and MUST have them for forward-facing. The quality seems excellent. Oh, and there is a LATCH on the back of the seat for rear-facing that my husband had to fasten to my front passenger seat because there was nowhere else to put it... Hope we never have to find out how well the safety features work but I feel confident with this carseat!
