The Britax Boulevard 70 Convertible Car Seat - Onyx is beautiful, but it's also well equipped to keep your child safe and comfortable on the road. It keeps your little one comfortable with its rear- and forward-facing recline positions, high density comfort foam layer, comfort pads, and infant body pillow. And it keeps him safe with a host of safety features, beginning with the SafeCell technology and integrated steel bars that reduce the forward flexing and rotation of the seat in a collision. The energy-absorbing Versa-Tether has a staged-release tether webbing to further slow forward movement, and it has a two-point attachment to anchor the top of the infant seat. Forward motion is also reduced by the Harness Ultra Guard System (HUGS), and the five-point safety harness distributes crash forces across the strongest parts of the body. This car seat also provides side impact protection, with a head restraint to keep the head, neck, and spine aligned; deep side walls lined with EPP foam shield your child from vehicle intrusion and help distribute crash forces. Premium lower LATCH connectors give you a simple installation with push-button release, and built-in lock-offs provide a snug lap and shoulder belt installation without hassle. This infant car seat can be used for rear-facing children from 5 to 40 lbs., and for forward-facing children at least 1 year old and 20 to 70 lbs. An infant positioning insert (not included) may be required for smaller infants to ensure a snug harness fit.
