Forward motion is also reduced by the Harness Ultra Guard System (HUGS), and the five-point safety harness distributes crash forces across the strongest parts of the body. This car seat also provides side impact protection, with a head restraint to keep the head, neck, and spine aligned; deep side walls lined with EPP foam shield your child from vehicle intrusion and help distribute crash forces. Premium lower LATCH connectors give you a simple installation with push-button release, and built-in lock-offs provide a snug lap and shoulder belt installation without hassle. This infant car seat can be used for rear-facing children from 5 to 40 lbs., and for forward-facing children at least 1 year old and 20 to 70 lbs. An infant positioning insert (not included) may be required for smaller infants to ensure a snug harness fit.
