I take care of our 9 month old grandson every week day. He's started shaking the crib and the portacrib we borrowed from a friend needed to be replaced with something sturdy and safe for our little guy. This crib seems very, very sturdy and strong. I saw this crib on line and decided to take a chance. The free shipping was nice, but the incredibly fast shipping was the tipping point which led me to purchase this crib. I bought it on line on a Sunday night, it was shipping on WEdnesday and I received it on Friday, which was at least 2 weeks faster than any place else I checked. I also liked the no-pinch hinge on the fold down gate, so I don't have to worry about pinching any little fingers. I had a hard time finding another portacrib with a fold down gate and even though the mattress is in the lowest position, I can reach down to the mattress to pick up our grandson. The only con I can say for right now, is that one of the screws was missing screw threads on one end, so my thankfully helpful husband had the right tool to fix that screw. The bed went together just fine. I would have loved to have found this with the capability to fold it, but I don't think it would have been as strong. And, since we have the baby every day, it's not something we'll be putting away anyway. We put the grandson in the crib as soon as we had it put together and cleaned tonight and he was having fun exploring. Now, if you could just put him to sleep for us, it would be great.
