I would have given 5 stars but one corner of the shelf unit would not fit together perfectly - I have a gap.

I bought this bookcase for my 5-year old boy's room. He has alot of books that I wanted to display. This item did the job and actually have more space to fill in more books. However, it was not sturdy enough even if you fill it in with books. Wasn't made durable for the height of the bookcase. That's why the manufacturer included a safety latch for the wall. Also, my husband had a difficult time installing the shelves with the screws it came in but we finally got it done, it just took a while. If you are looking for the price and look, this item is good. But, durability wise, no!

    This is a nice-looking (not cheap) bookcase, which is easy to assemble. Great for a baby room for small toys, books, stuffed animals. The only problem is the big, deep holes where the screws are...looks horrible. We had to buy some dowels/plugs (and paint them) to fill the holes on the sides. Now it looks very nice. I'm surprised they do not include some little dowels for this.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    This bookshelf is cute in my 3 year ld daughter's room. Relatively easy to put together. Quality is average; although a bit flimsy but good enough for price paid. Color is white. BUT it smells!!! Almost like paint fumes. I had to take it out of my daughter's room the first night. I'm hoping that the smell goes away. I dont want to have to return it.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      [...]Very good quality fasteners. Easy to assemble with good instructions and each piece marked by number. Took about 30 min to assemble. We used for TV/video components. The part numbers left a very hard to remove glue behind on the parts
