Not hard but a pain, soft finish

While this wasn't difficult to put together it did take some time, the instructions are all pictures and none of the parts are labeled. It is a nice sized dresser for our 3 year old and he will get some use out of it. We ordered the darker color and the finish is very soft. In the course of putting it together we scratched it several times. Its a pretty color but I'm not real sure how long it will stay that way with our rough and tumble son.

Nice and sturdy. I ordered the dresser to go along with a crib and changing table I had purchased previously. The only problem I had was using code for 20% off. It would not recognize it and wouldn't accept it.

The DaVinci Kalani 4-Drawer Chest was easy to put together, is sturdy, has deep drawers, and matches beautifully with the DaVinci Kalani Crib. I loved that this site did not charge taxes on the item and that I was able to get it delivered quickly with minimal shipping costs. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because there was a slight scratch on the front of the dresser, it is on a bar hidden by the drawers when they are in place so it is not a huge concern but still a little disappointing.

I am writing this review for my hubby. He is in the process of putting this dresser together. The quality of the furniture is great. Couldn't ask for better. The only fault I can find is that it is very soft & scratches VERY easily. The main complaint are the instructions. Da Vinci you REALLY dropped the ball on the instructions. NOTHING is labeled & you have to look at the pictures to try to figure out what goes where & still end up getting it backwards. REALLY? How hard would it have been to put removable labels on the pieces? I didn't take more points off because the quality is good. If I was rating it just on the ease of assembly, it would get a 1 star rating. All I can say is be prepared to set aside several hours to put it together.

Bought the Kalani nursery set for my (due in June) daughter, and despite the directions being small pictures... along with NONE OF THE PARTS ARE LABELED, the dresser came together in just under 2-1/2hrs with me and hubby working on it (and me taking a few potty breaks and a snack break). The end product is beautiful, sturdy, and I'm sure will get many years of use.
Service and delivery comments:
The dresser arrived yesterday (a day early, and a day before everthing else) - the box had typical "just shipped across the US" wear and tear, but the contents were preserved well (lots of styrafoam and such) Just a heads up - the dresser ships via FedEx, and according to FedEx, the package weighs 92lbs by itself!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
