You can configure them pretty much any way you desire to best fit your needs and the space of the room.
We recommend placing the base drawers side-by-side on the floor since they are nearly twice as deep as the other storage units. They provide a great, solid base to this large storage unit and offer a bench for children to sit on or a surface for drawing. We then recommend placing the 2-door cabinets and the cubbie units in a three by two formation. Since they are the same size, you can configure these units any way you choose. The 2-door cabinets feature chalkboard or corkboard door panels and the cubbies feature a fixed shelf and center divider so that each one is divided into four spaces. Have fun with it and rearrange until you find the solution that works best for you.
