I ordered this rocking chair for my daughter's nursery and based on this specific chairs prior reviews I decided to proceed w/ the purchase. I did a lot of research on different rocking chairs before I made my final decision. The chair arrived within a week and assembly is necessary. It took my husband about 25 minutes to assemble on his own, he said it was fairly simple. I wasn't sure how ordering a chair online would work as I'm tall and was concerned about the height and ease of getting in and out of chair w/ a baby in hand. To my suprise this chair is perfect for me and I'm 5'10". It rocks smoothly, the wood is gorgeous, and the seat is plenty big and roomy. The arms seem to sit a little higher than what I expected but it's actually quite comfortable. I went and bought a chair pad for it - but it's more comfortable to me without the pad. The reason I purchased this instead of the glider rockers (You know the fabric/wooden big chairs you see at Babies R US) is because first and foremost you can't beat the price. Second - what do you do with a wood/fabric glider once you don't have a need for it in the nursery? Almost everyone I know is trying to get rid of their old ones - no thank you! Third - a classic rocking chair like this can be used in any room in the house or it can be kept in her room as she grows. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, look, and comfort of this chair!

I bought this chair for my wife for our first baby. It was a great chair for 2 1/2 years, but then the top of the back broke loose from the side dowels first, then the whole back shattered. When I got it, I expected it to last a long time; to have it useless so soon is a disappointment.

      I bought this rocker for nursing a baby. I have been able to get it together, but getting the bolts really secure has proved tough on my hands. One set of bolts, for the armrests, are still not secured because they are very hard to tighten. Women and older folks in particular should be cautious about the issue; very good hand strength is necessary to get it properly assembled. The allen wrench that comes with the product is not comfortable to turn with a tight bolt.

      I have some experience with pre-fab products, but those who don't need to know that it takes some assembling skills; it's not too good for a beginner. Instructions are not totally clear; a few more stickers on the pieces to make the orientation of different pieces obvious, and maybe labeling the screws and bolts more clearly, might make it a simpler process.

      I'd recommend it to anyone who understands the difficulties of getting it together, since it seems like a solid piece of furniture for the money and is very nice to look at.

        I have owned many wooden rocking chairs, and this one BY FAR out-performs them all. The curvature in the seat and on the backrest is perfect, allowing many consecutive hours of comfortable use. It is a little difficult to put together, but not so much that I would complain much about it. A few minutes of work to put this chair together will provide you with hours and hours of enjoyment!

        QUICK TIP: Make sure you save the hex tool that is provided in the box for assembly, because after few months of constant use, you might want to tighten up the screws to keep it from squeaking and becoming noisy (just a quick tune-up if it is necessary).

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          Bought this rocker as a birthday gift for our daughter and son-in-law several days after the birth of our first grandchild. They were delighted and have repeatedly commented on the comfort and style. Assembly was easy, especially after all the other baby items that have recently been assembled. Comfortable even without a cushion. Rocks just right and the arms are the perfect height for nursing. Thus far, we and they have been very pleased.
