We recommend placing the base drawers side-by-side on the floor since they are nearly twice as deep as the other storage units. They provide a great, solid base to this large storage unit and offer a bench for children to sit on or a surface for drawing. We then recommend placing the 2 cubbie units on top of each drawer for a safe and stable unit. This is our recommendation, but since they are the same size, you can configure these units any way you choose. The cubbies feature a fixed shelf and center divider so that each one is divided into four spaces. Have fun with it and rearrange until you find the solution that works best for you.
